Coke Studio Season 12 is on fire. The 3rd installment of the episode is out now and it is all open-happiness in Pakistan. This is episode features some amazing artists. These include the mesmerizing Sanam Marvi, Ali Sethi, Aima Ali Baig, and Sahir Ali Bagga. The eclectic performance by Rohail Hyatt this season has baffled the audience. Rohail Hyatt was formerly a member of Vitals Bands, an old band among the top few bands of Pakistan.
Coke Studio has been on a decline all this time and this season i.e The 12th Season was the last nail in the coffin. The entire ship was relying on the vision of Rohail and look at how he turns the waves on the other side.
By the virtue of being a Friday, today was the 3rd installment of this season. And Ali Sethi just dropped a bomb. This one is called Gulon Main Rang.
Ali Sethi In Coke Studio Season 12:
Can Coke Studio be Coke Studio without artists like QuratulAin Balouch, Abida Parveen, Atif Aslam, and Ali Sethi? The answer is oh boy, oh boy, no.
Ali Sethi takes the stage on #CokeStudio12. This is a Poetry Masterpiece written by Faiz Ahmed Faiz, a great legendary Urdu poet, and leader. In the track Gulon Main Rang, Ali Sethi pours out his heart. This is an already soul-drenching ghazal from Faiz that establishes multiple layers of meanings within the context of blossoming springtime and romantic longings.
This is not the first time that Ali Sethi sings a song previously sung by Mehdi Hasan. Neither is this the first time that Coke Studio has covered a song sung by Mehdi Hasan using the same qualities. Although Ali Sethi is among the best artists that Pakistan holds, it is still highly controversial to redo an old singer’s hit in a funky new way.
This is why this number from Coke Studio is a highly polar one. People can love it, people can hate it but they can just not ignore it.
That is the power of Ali Sethi for you. Also, there is a great responsibility and effort of other contributors to the success of this track. These include those who made the masterpiece what it was in the first place.
Masterpiece:
This is a lyrical and musical masterpiece, revived to the same tune as sung by Mehdi Hassan originally.
Although it was composed by Salim Shahid and Mehdi Hassan in the past the older version too sounds just as fresh. The Cokestudio one builds on the same melody, under the new and fresh notes from intriguing musical instruments and a glorious artist lineup of the Coke Studio House Band.
Moreover, with Rohail Hyatt’s undying efforts to make Coke Studio great again have allowed this masterpiece to be crazy for the ears of the listeners.

The Coke Studio Season 12 has already given us astounding melodies and heartwarming lyrics with the tracks and performances so far. These include Atif Aslam‘s Wohi Khuda Hai, Abrar Ul Haq’s Billo, Adam, and Rachel Vicaaji’s Saiyaan.
