Pakistan’s Caretaker Prime Minister, Anwar ul Haq Kakar, has mentioned that many people are working in the black market without paying taxes. Finally, Pakistan has decided to take care of its own issues. According to details in the British newspaper ‘Telegraph,’ he wrote in an article that hospitality to Afghan refugees is part of Pakistan’s DNA. However, whenever security issues with the Afghan government were discussed, he said, “First, take care of your own home.” Pakistan has now decided to focus on improving its own situation.
Minister Kakar wrote that since August 2021, at least 16 Afghan citizens have carried out suicide attacks in Pakistan. Many illegal residents work in the black market without paying taxes. These individuals are also susceptible to exploitation by the underworld. Pakistan has provided numerous opportunities for illegal immigrants, including voluntary registration and repatriation. There is misinformation and baseless accusations on social media regarding Pakistan’s policy on dealing with illegal immigrants. It is entirely incorrect to say that Pakistan has rushed into action.
In his article, he further wrote that our goal is to make Pakistan safe, peaceful, and prosperous. By allowing such a large number of illegal individuals to reside in Pakistan, we cannot compromise our national security. However, there are strict rules in place for dealing with illegal individuals, emphasizing respect and care. To achieve this goal, we have established approximately 79 transit centers providing free meals, shelter, and medical facilities.
