In recent news, the Islamabad High Court has allowed PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar and Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, to have political discussions. Imran Khan requested this permission to talk about party ticket allocations. However, there was opposition from the Additional Attorney General and the Superintendent of Adiala Jail during the proceedings. They questioned why more notes from the Supreme Court were necessary.
The court, surprised by this opposition, jokingly asked if the extra note from the Supreme Court wasn’t enough and humorously suggested whether they should also write notes against themselves. The opposition raised concerns about the fairness of the consultation process.

Despite the opposition, the Islamabad High Court proceeded to grant permission for the political consultation between Barrister Gohar and Imran Khan. The court specifically instructed that the meeting should be supervised by Adiala Jail’s superintendent.
Emphasizing the basic right to consult for elections, the court highlighted the importance of fairness in the caretaker government to ensure just elections. Justice Gul Hassan Orangzeb pointed out the necessity for impartiality from the offices of the Advocate General and Additional Attorney General, expressing concern about the current system under the caretaker government. The court stressed the lack of provisions for electoral consultation in the caretaker government’s system and voiced worries that the government might try to influence the electoral process.
