Imran Khan and Shah Mahmood Qureshi Charged in Cipher Case

Cipher Case

In the Cipher case the former Prime Minister, Imran Khan and former Foreign Minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi have been accused of committing an offense. The case is being heard by Judge Abul Hasanat Zulqarnain, in the Special Court under the Official Secrets Act. Both Imran Khan and Shah Mahmood Qureshi have denied these charges.

During the hearing Special Prosecutors Shah Khawar and Zulfiqar Abbas Naqvi from the FIA appeared in court. Usman Gul, a lawyer representing PTI(Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf) and Barrister Taimoor Malik, who represents Shah Mahmood Qureshi were also present. Once the individuals have been formally charged the trial for the Cipher case will commence at Adiala Jail. Yesterday arguments were presented regarding applications, in court following which December 13 has been set as the date for individual charges to be filed.
