Jamaat-e-Islami has refused to cooperate with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in forming the government. Jamaat-e-Islami’s Deputy Chief, Liaqat Baloch, said that the final decision has been made not to collaborate with PTI. PTI has formed alliances with other parties at the federal level. There is no possibility of an alliance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa only. Discussions with PTI were about both governments.
On the other hand, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf may not get specific seats from the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal. The Election Commission sources say that MMA did not submit a priority list for women’s reserved seats. The time for submitting priority lists under Election Act Section 104 has passed. Political parties can still submit their nomination papers by the final deadline for submitting priority lists.
The Election Commission has stated that after the deadline, changes or additions cannot be made to the priority list. Priority changes can be made in the lists, but no name can be removed. Therefore, despite PTI’s inclusion, no reserved seats for women or minorities may be available. It is reported that PTI has decided to form a government in collaboration with Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal in the center and Punjab, and with Jamaat-e-Islami in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Central Secretary Information, Rauf Hassan, revealed during a press conference that he was very pleased with his meeting with Imran Khan. He will convey some messages and decisions to you. Imran Khan has approved the alliance with Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal in the center and Punjab. Imran Khan has also approved the alliance with Jamaat-e-Islami in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
