Khadija Shah has become the subject of internet scrutiny this week. We are all used to funny comments and quirky remarks of various celebrities in the Pakistani fashion industry, political market and basically every other business sector you think of.
But, this blooper is funnier. The creative head of an elitist brand says that the brand is affordable. And this steamed a new war on social media.
Twitter trolls don’t forgive after all. Women everywhere from Pakistan are taking the issue to their social media platforms asking Khadija Shah to answer how is an unstitched 20k lawn outfit affordable?
To this hue and outcry, she replied:
It is absurd that an otherwise known as a wise woman says something super insensitive without expecting people to roast her all over the social media. And if this was a marketing tactic then, what was Elan thinking?
If any corporate person from another country passed a value judgment like this people would have brutally bashed the brand. Perhaps, we can just settle for the jokes people are making.
