Supreme Court Justice Mazhar Ali Akbar Naqvi Resigns

Supreme Court Justice Mazhar Ali Akbar Naqvi has resigned from his position in the midst of allegations. According to media reports, Justice Naqvi submitted his resignation, informing the President of the country, Dr. Arif Alvi. In his resignation, he expressed that although it was an honor for him to have served in the Lahore High Court and the Supreme Court, continuing to work in his current role has become impossible.

It has been reported that Justice Naqvi has denied the allegations made against him. In response to a notice from the Supreme Judicial Council regarding the allegations, Justice Naqvi submitted a reply, stating that the council cannot take action on complaints against a sitting judge, and any relief in the matter should be sought through appropriate legal channels.

Additionally, Justice Naqvi raised objections to his appointment as the prosecutor in the case against Attorney General. He argued that the complainant in the Pakistan Bar Council is also the Chairman of the Pakistan Bar Council, and the complaints against bar councils are politically motivated.
Justice Naqvi clarified that the payment for the Park Road Islamabad plot was made from his salary account, and there is no connection to Al-Ameed Plaza in Gujranwala.
